We’re in for a gorgeous day with full sunshine and a light breeze from the southwest. Record highs are in jeopardy today with lower 70s expected in Missouri and some middle 70s in Arkansas.

High temperature records for today were set in 2012.

Friday looks quite similar, with highs within a couple degrees of today. Very dry air initially will keep us mostly clear, but some high clouds will begin to move in on Friday afternoon and evening. A cold front will slide through on Friday evening into Saturday morning, with widespread clouds expected on the north side of the front. Some limited moisture will return to the area this weekend as low pressure develops along the front.

Widespread clouds are expected Saturday but only a few showers.

We might see a few showers on Saturday but the threat at this point looks quite limited and any spot that gets wet won’t be getting much rain. The chance is a little better on Sunday, but again, it looks like rain will be light.

Low pressure will move into the area Sunday with some light rain possible.

A cold front will swing through Sunday night, bringing much colder conditions to the area for Monday. While the overall pattern is quite consistent, long-range models are not in agreement on the details for next week. There is lower-than-average confidence on temperatures next week, and it appears we have a chance for some showers around Wednesday.
