FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Excessive Heat Warning Issued
Heat Index to push 110 degrees for some.
The heat is set to get just a touch warmer the next two days. The Heat Advisory has been upgraded to an Excessive Heat Warning for areas west of Springfield. This region could see the Heat Index reach 110 degrees again Thursday. Lows tonight under a clear sky will only drop to the mid 70′s.
Sunny hot weather is forecast both Thursday and Friday as the ridge remains firm overhead. Highs will reach the mid 90′s both days with the heat index between 100-110 degrees. The Heat Advisory may have to be extended one more day Friday.
Conditions begin to change on Saturday as a cold front drops into Missouri. There is a chance for storms for the Lake of the Ozarks area by Saturday evening. High temperatures Saturday may be in the low 90′s. Areas south of the front will again be warmer and additional advisories may be needed.
The front continues south on Sunday pushing the rain and storms south too. The rain should reach Arkansas by Sunday afternoon. Cooler drier weather then settles into the Ozarks from Sunday through next Wednesday. Lows will drop to the 60′s with highs in the low 80′s. The humidity levels will also be dropping.
